I had the chance to book my ticket months in advance for the performance of Tosca. I was very impressed by the audience, most of whom were elegantly dressed. The Vienna State Opera was partially destroyed during WWII and reconstructed. Definitely worth a visit!
An amazing place with breathtaking architecture and ambiance. We visited the Vienna State Opera in August, during their break. With the Vienna Pass, we just needed to visit the opera's website and book a free time slot in advance. On our visit day, several groups entered simultaneously, each with a guide in a different language – Spanish, German, English, etc. The groups took different routes inside the opera, minimizing overlap. The only minor downside was at the beginning when all groups gathered in the main hall, and we could hear the guides speaking all at once. Despite these minor issues, the experience was absolutely fantastic, and it's a must-visit.
I was fortunate to attend the Wiener Opern Ball 2025, a truly remarkable event. The guests were exquisitely dressed, showcasing beautiful gowns and sparkling ornaments. It felt like a journey back in time, enriched by classical music performed by an exceptional orchestra. The couples danced in perfect symmetry, with a contrast of white (the debutantes) and black (their gentlemen) creating a visual masterpiece. Laughter mingled with champagne toasts, alongside opera singers and dancers. The various side rooms featured pop-ups: from live bands to food stands (everyone was enjoying Wiener), and from last-minute makeup stations to sweet treat distributors. The entrance was adorned with a plethora of fresh flowers. The red carpet was a delightful surprise (I likely looked dazed in the local celebrity footage). White tie and simply fabulous. A once-in-a-lifetime experience!
Have you ever had a dream come true? I managed to secure a ticket for Puccini's Tosca! It's one of my favorites. The building is an incredible architectural marvel. The sound from the balcony was just as good as in the parterre. Be sure to check out the food stands during intermission.
I had a delightful experience! The architecture of the building is genuinely stunning, and the warm atmosphere was enhanced by the beautiful people surrounding us. The live music created a lovely vibe, and the artist's talent was impressively showcased. I wholeheartedly recommend this place; it’s a memorable experience that everyone should have.
