A Spectacular Mozart & Vivaldi Concert at Musikverein Wien
Attending the Mozart & Vivaldi concert at Musikverein Wien was an absolute delight! The performance was exceptionally well done, with breathtaking musicianship and an atmosphere that completely immersed the audience in the beauty of classical music.
What made this concert truly special was the element of surprise—it wasn’t just a standard performance; it was filled with unexpected artistic choices that kept everyone engaged. Whether it was dynamic interpretations, stunning solos, or creative transitions, the concert exceeded all expectations.
For those planning to attend, I highly recommend booking seats at the top, in the middle section at the back. This position offers a perfectly symmetrical view of the golden hall and the performers, making the experience even more visually and acoustically immersive.
If you’re in Vienna and love classical music, this is an absolute must-see!
PS: We booked the tickets before two months to make sure we have the spot
Great place for classical music. I would recommend you come as early as 45min before the scheduled time. You’ll have to deposit your coat and it could take time especially if there’s another concert. Be sure to book the concert in the grand hall if you’re looking for that. I would hope that they improve the logistics upon arrival there. The staff were doing their best but I don’t think it was enough for the volume of people. Still a great experience overall.
An experience that is 100% recommended!
We decided to go to the Vienna Music Society last minute with standing tickets (17 euros on 3 January) and it was totally worth it!
We arrived around 45 minutes before the start of the concert and one of us stayed at the queue while the other went to leave the jackets (mandatory). The doors open 30 minutes before.
The standing area is at the ground floor of the theater at the back of the seats. It is much closer than you think! Get a spot between 2 columns and if you are a couple with a height difference get the one behind the other. This worked pretty well for us.
The concert lasted a bit more than 2 hours with a break. You better put on very comfortable shoes. You can see all kinds of styles in terms of clothing from very chic and elegant to very normal as there are a lot of tourists going.
In case you want a photo, I recommend taking some before or after the concert. You can even enter the main seated area for the photos and no-one tells anything.
Amazing experience, remembering Vivaldi and Mozart for almost 2 hours.
Standing audience was not ideal (although cheaper) but in the interval you can sit more at the front if there are available seats.
We saw their Christmas Mozart concert where they dress up in costumes and have opera singers performing too. It was a great concert. We bought tickets for Euros 99 each in the Parterre region, row 13, seats 1 and 2. They were great seats and we were kind of in the middle of the hall on the lower part. It was worth it - we were able to see the orchestra and performers really well and the sound was tremendous!
They also gave us free CDs of the orchestra with our tickets - which was a nice bonus.
I would say if you can afford it, pay a little more and you will have a better experience. You also get priority to go into the hall when the doors open so you can take pictures etc. It is a very beautiful theatre. My only gripe were the hard seats - they were very uncomfortable - I would advise you to take a cushion.
We dressed up, my husband in a nice dinner jacket and I wore a velvet winter dress with fur on the collar. Most people were dressed semi-formal to formal.
The performance was exceptional and the conductor even interacts with the audience which is so much fun!
I highly recommend going to see at least one symphony performance at the Musikverein.
