Reviews
This exhibition provides a fantastic experience with truly captivating pieces. If you have a profound appreciation for Egon Schiele, you’ll enjoy exploring his works here.
I visited Leopold on a crisp, sunny Sunday morning in February, shortly after it opened. The museum was quite empty. What a joy it was to wander through its galleries and learn about the Austrian art nouveau and modernist movement. Highly recommended, especially for fans of Klimt, the Secession, and Schiele.
Leopold is a hidden gem in Vienna that can be overshadowed by the Albertina or Belvedere. However, this museum has its own charm and a fantastic selection of artists, including many works by Gustav Klimt. It’s a must-visit!
Absolutely delightful experience! The art museum is spread over 5 different levels of a simple cuboid limestone building and contains some of the most controversial art pieces by Egon Schiele. The extensive collection of Gustav Klimt, Rudolf Wacker, Moser, and Kokoschka is breathtaking and will please all art lovers. The sculptures are perfectly matched with the surroundings, including works by Ivan Meštrović, Auguste Rodin, and Edgar Degas. The seating area in the rooms is somewhat limited, but there are enough seats in the lobby for when you need a break while exploring the museum.
Beautifully curated collection of Austrian artworks, featuring some well-known and some lesser-known artists, arranged over 6 tranquil floors. Definitely worth a visit!
