The Imperial Treasury Vienna holds thousands of years of history in one place. The tour itself is self-guided, and you can pretty much take as much time as you want - you can easily dedicate an hour here, if not more. There's lots of history, collections, and descriptions. The price was definitely worth all the gold and jewels that you can see.

This was a highlight of our stay in Vienna. We shorted ourselves on time, as you really need 3-4 hours if you enjoy this type of museum. I'm sure there were many hidden treasures that we missed. The ecclesiastical section includes religious items such as a reliquary containing a nail that pierced Christ's right hand at the crucifixion. It is easily overlooked.

If you want to see some of the excessive wealth of the Hapsburg empire, I highly recommend a visit - we spent about an hour and 15 minutes looking through some beautiful pieces of jewelry, clothing, and ecclesiastical wealth - right next door to the Spanish Riding School.
