We recently toured Tokyo Tower on a beautiful sunny day, and while there were highlights, the experience ultimately left us feeling a bit underwhelmed. The views from the observation deck are absolutely stunning, offering a breathtaking panorama of the city that’s definitely worth seeing. Being up there on a clear day is delightful, and we enjoyed appreciating the iconic skyline.
One standout feature for us was the glass floors that let us look straight down and truly grasp just how high up we were. It added an exhilarating element to the visit, perfect for thrill-seekers.
However, apart from the views and the glass floors, we found the overall experience lacking. The exhibits and attractions in the tower didn’t feel as engaging or unique as we hoped. There just wasn’t enough to capture our interest beyond the initial awe of the height.
Overall, while Tokyo Tower is an iconic landmark with spectacular views, the experience didn’t quite meet our expectations. We would give it a solid 3 stars out of 5—worth visiting for the views, but perhaps not a must-do on your Tokyo itinerary.

Tokyo Tower is a fantastic attraction. I enjoyed the views during the day, but decided to go up and experience the views at night. Definitely a great decision. I loved it.
I was surprised, however, that I couldn't buy a ticket for the highest deck (there are 2 different levels) as it was already sold out for that time.
Tokyo Tower has a smaller capacity than Tokyo Skytree, so the number of visitors at any given time is somewhat limited. Keep that in mind when planning your visit!
During our visit to Tokyo Tower, the weather was quite cloudy, but this did not diminish the experience at all. In fact, the misty atmosphere added a magical touch to the panoramic view of the city. Even with the overcast skies, the sprawling cityscape of Tokyo looked stunning from the observation deck.
