During our morning stroll, we came across CHIJMES and couldn't resist exploring it. Despite the early hour resulting in closed restaurants, cafés, and bars, we relished the beautiful surroundings. The peaceful environment and charming architecture made it ideal for photos, especially on the lawn. It’s definitely a spot worth visiting, and I’d love to return when everything is open!
At Dew by White Grass! The food is fantastic even if I'm not typically a fan of fusion cuisine. We ordered the special set for two (valid until 1-3-2025) and each dish was so good that we finished everything. The pork was impressively tender, needing no knife, and bursting with flavor. The cold pasta was topped with sashimi, and the delicious tangy sauce meant we left no trace in the bowl by the end of our meal.
CHIJMES is a beautiful event space. It features a hall for festive celebrations along with ample space for walking and browsing various dining establishments and taking photos. Although we couldn't enter the central hall today due to an event, my wife and I explored the area, snapped pictures, and enjoyed lunch at one of many cafés. Our stroll left us with only positive feelings. I recommend this destination to everyone visiting Singapore.
CHIJMES is a stunning place that elegantly merges historical architecture with a modern vibe. Once a convent, this heritage site now hosts a variety of chic restaurants, bars, and cafes, ideal for dining, socializing, or romantic evenings. The beautifully restored chapel, featuring intricate Gothic details, offers unique charm and is a popular choice for weddings and events. The lively ambiance, enhanced by lush courtyards and ambient lighting, assures a memorable experience. Whether for a casual outing or a special occasion, CHIJMES is a must-visit treasure in Singapore’s cultural and dining landscape.
This building is very nice and offers a different vibe from day to night. The time to explore may be short, but it provides a moment of peace amidst a busy trip. Don’t expect traditional monasteries, as most now function as restaurants.
