This museum offers a comprehensive history of Shanghai, showcasing its development and historical events through numerous artifacts and displays. While it requires some time to thoroughly explore, especially with the extensive reading material, the rooftop garden bar is a lovely spot for refreshments, and the museum's café offers delicious coffee.

Accessing the museum requires purchasing a ticket for the Oriental Tower in advance. The layout is confusing with multiple entries and exits, making it challenging to navigate. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to enter the museum or visit the tower. The overall experience left much to be desired.

The museum occupies the first floor of the Oriental Pearl Tower and utilizes models and projected imagery to depict Shanghai's historical domestic life. I found the exhibit captivating, and it's great to find it free of crowds. Interestingly, a local resident I spoke to was unaware of its existence.

This is more of a wax museum rather than a traditional history museum, showcasing the splendor of old Shanghai from the 1920s. It's located in the basement of the Dong Fang Ming Zhu Tower and is worth a visit if you have some spare time, especially since the entrance is included with the tower ticket.

I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the museum. It offers in-depth insights into Shanghai's past, present, and future, far exceeding my expectations. However, more information in English would benefit non-Chinese speakers visiting the museum.
