Standing at an impressive height of 468 meters, this tower not only dominates the city skyline but is also recognized as one of the tallest structures in the world. Finished in 1994 and designed by the talented architects Huan Chen Benlin and Zhang Xiulin, the tower features a series of eleven spheres interconnected by vibrant columns, all anchored firmly to the ground. The Oriental Pearl Tower is a renowned icon of Shanghai and a must-see in the city. The futuristic architecture is impressive, standing out as one of the most identifiable landmarks in the Pudong skyline. The experience begins as soon as you enter. The elevator ride to the observation decks is smooth and surprisingly fast. Once at the top, the views are simply stunning. The glass-bottom floor is a highlight—it’s exhilarating to look straight down and see the city below your feet! Whether you visit during the day to enjoy the expansive urban panorama or at night when the city lights create a spectacular display, the experience is unforgettable. Inside the tower, there is also a museum that highlights Shanghai’s history, which is a great addition for anyone interested in the city's cultural heritage. The revolving restaurant offers a unique experience as well, providing panoramic views while you dine. It can become crowded, so I recommend going early or reserving tickets ahead of time. Overall, the Oriental Pearl Tower is more than just a sightseeing destination—it’s an experience that deepens your appreciation for Shanghai’s modern vibrancy. Highly recommended!

We experienced the tower during the day and appreciated our time exploring the walkway. It’s one of the landmark buildings in Shanghai and definitely worth a visit. At night, you can go to The Bund to see the illuminated cityscape, which nicely changes the ambiance of the tower.

Paris has the Eiffel Tower, while Shanghai showcases the Pearl Tower. Shanghai provides various attractions on multiple levels. I was particularly interested in the observation deck and glass walkway. Ticket purchase is required, and you will need to present a passport or other valid identification. The lift is quick, and the whole experience has been worthwhile.

Hard to miss! A beautiful tower in Shanghai. Several tour packages are available. I opted for the full tour which granted me access to the highest observation point and the underground museum. The glass floor area is a must—unless you’re afraid of heights! Very impressive!

A pinnacle of futuristic architecture. We reserved dinner at the revolving restaurant and added the Space capsule experience. The buffet-style restaurant was excellent with a great view. The space capsule was cool, though at 100 CYN, it was a bit pricey but offered an amazing view. It felt like being in a spaceship floating through space.
