An incredibly stunning mall, subtly positioned on Market St. in downtown SF. There are several stores still operational inside the beautiful building, along with a food court. If you venture up to the top floors, you can appreciate the exquisite dome and the closed entrance of a movie theater.

Situated close to the ‘zombie area’ of town, this lovely mall has unfortunately been significantly impacted by ongoing shoplifting, leaving many retail spaces vacant. It resembles a ghost town, with few customers and several security personnel monitoring the area to mitigate losses for the few retailers still operational.

The location is nice, but parking in downtown SF can be a hassle, as it requires a paid multilevel parking garage. The mall appears a bit sparse with limited shopping options, and the shuttered movie theater has created a void affecting the overall ambiance. While most shops mainly focus on clothing and food, the architecture is remarkable, featuring ample seating and a spacious layout. It's a pity that there aren't many shops to discover. Nevertheless, I'd suggest visiting, even if only for a brief stop. The dining options are confined, and given the surrounding area, numerous stores employ their own security, but rest assured, it feels safe inside.

Shop Dine SF Holiday Pop-Up was held from December 5-7, 2024. A few local maker booths were located at the top level, complemented by a live band performing. The remainder of the mall was relatively vacant during that Saturday weekend.

San Francisco Center is an excellent place to visit during the day, particularly before 4 PM. For an optimal experience, I recommend staying on Market Street between Fourth Street and the Ferry Building. Currently, it's best to avoid venturing past Fifth Street. By remaining within this area, you'll be immersed in the city's vibrant atmosphere while ensuring a pleasant and secure visit.
