You can enjoy stunning views of the Ghirardelli sign both day and night. From the beach, you also get a glimpse of the ships and Alcatraz in the distance. Although it tends to get crowded, it's worth stopping by during your walk or drive. **Be cautious at night; there are often unsavory individuals around doing drugs in their vehicles and on bicycles. Like any large city, I wouldn't recommend walking at night, coming from Seattle, it feels much safer during the daylight.

If you appreciate history or enjoy spending time by the water, the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park is a must-visit. It's conveniently located near Fisherman’s Wharf. The historic ships are very impressive; you can board them and experience what life was like in earlier times. My personal favorite was the Balclutha, an impressive sailing ship. There’s also the Eureka, an old steam ferryboat with a distinct charm. The visitor center is filled with fascinating information and is a great first stop. Nearby is the Maritime Museum, located in a beautiful art deco building that features exhibits on shipbuilding, navigation, and maritime life – plenty to keep you entertained and enlightened. Overall, it’s an excellent combination of history and beautiful views. Absolutely worth a visit when you’re in San Francisco!

This historic building, completed in 1939 as the Aquatic Park Bathhouse, honors U.S. Representative Sala Burton (1925-1987). The Aquatic Park Bathhouse opened in 1939, a collaboration between the City of San Francisco and the New Deal-era Works Progress Administration (WPA). It stands as the centerpiece of the Aquatic Park Historic Landmark District. The structure is designed in the Streamline Moderne style, reminiscent of the sleek lines of an ocean liner.

It's a fantastic location for jogging and morning walks. It's usually not too crowded, allowing for pleasant strolls, and if the weather is good, you can enjoy lovely views. You can continue along the coast towards the Golden Gate Bridge – it's a beautiful walk.
