Piazza di Spagna, or the Spanish Square, is an iconic landmark in Rome renowned for its breathtaking Spanish Steps (Scalinata della Trinita dei Monti), which elegantly ascend to the French Church located at the top. This 18th-century square has a unique irregular shape and lies at the base of the scenic Pincio Hill. A highlight of the square is the Fontana della Barcaccia, a magnificent fountain designed by the famous architect Gian Lorenzo Bernini in 1598, featuring a quaint statue of a small boat, a tribute to the Tiber River's flooding of the same year. Surrounding the square are significant historical buildings, including the former residence of John Keats, which operates as a museum, and the Palazzo Cybo, dating back to the 15th century.
