The large, historical museum features numerous valuable artifacts and many renowned works of art. Its ticket price is more affordable than that of the Vatican Museum, and it's not overcrowded. There's plenty to see in the vicinity, conveniently located near the bus station. The museum is extensive, making it hard to visit all areas due to the lack of a map. It's recommended that ticket sellers provide a map so visitors can navigate easily and not miss any highlights. I found it tricky to explore fully and ended up missing some exhibits.
Spending hours in this museum is effortless due to its rich collections, and it’s easy to lose oneself. I purchased my tickets in the morning at the ticket office with no wait, as it was not crowded. I suggest getting an audioguide or a live guide to enhance the experience.

This museum is fantastic! The sculptures are stunning, showcasing incredible detail and talent. I could spend the entire day here. In some rooms, there are murals covering the walls and ceilings. Plus, when you transfer to the second building, you’re greeted with a gorgeous view of the Roman Forum.
If you're keen on witnessing the original or Roman interpretation of every pose in the history of art, this museum should be your destination. We encountered few visitors, allowing us to spend quality time with some of the most iconic ancient sculptures. The picture gallery is charming, featuring works by Tintoretto and Caravaggio. I was pleasantly surprised by the ancient foundations of the Capitoline temple and the museum's rear, which offers an unusual viewpoint of the Roman Forum!
This place is absolutely delightful. A tip: begin at the café for a nice meal or coffee on the terraces, then explore the first building and proceed to the second. The picture gallery is impressive, but the standout features are the large statues. The ticket price is quite reasonable if purchased directly from the museum’s website. It’s conveniently located next to the southwest exit of the Roman Forum, making it a must-see if you’re at the forum or visiting the Colosseum.
