The experience was only fair due to our prior research. Inside the site, there is a lack of signposting to inform visitors about the artifacts. Without knowledge of Roman bathing history, it appears just as a collection of large stones from 2,000 years ago. As a paid 'museum' entry, I expected more insight into the site's history. Although it is a worthwhile historical site to visit, I highly recommend doing some research beforehand.
The staff at the counter were unfriendly. We purchased discounted tickets as '18-25 year olds,' as stated on their website (the same criteria as many other places in Rome), but they only accepted EU citizens upon our arrival, which was unclear on the site. When we attempted to pay the difference, we were condescendingly informed that there was no way to do so as 'there is nothing in the system that costs 6 euros.' I felt disrespected as a tourist and a student. This visit was far less pleasant compared to similar experiences at the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill.
While getting to the site by bus is fairly easy, there is little to no signposting from the stops. For a prominent tourist attraction, the lack of effort to enhance the visitor experience was disappointing. They should cater better to historical tourism from foreigners.
I discourage purchasing tickets in advance if visiting during quiet times like February; they may push you to pay again.

We were recommended this site by a guide but only visited on our last day in Rome. It was truly impressive, mainly due to the massive scale of the building, alongside remaining mosaics and details. If you're looking to escape crowds, this is a perfect place. We arrived around 90 minutes before closing and found it nearly empty. There was also an intriguing modern photo exhibition among the ruins.
Rather than trying to describe the immense size of the baths, I would suggest seeing it for yourself. It's a much quieter experience than many places in Rome since it’s located slightly away from the primary tourist attractions, making it a must-visit if you have the time. Tickets are approximately €5 cheaper when purchased online, although they are available at the entrance. This visit will enchant you and take you back in time, no doubt!
An intriguing site to visit filled with rich history. This area also offers a spacious garden, ideal for packing a lunch and enjoying a peaceful meal. It’s a beautiful and serene spot, not at all overcrowded, and truly feels like a hidden gem in Rome.
This is a lovely park area with Roman bath ruins that you can walk around. On the day we visited, there was a photography exhibition. The entire walk took about 1 hour, making for a peaceful stroll in the city center. The ticket price per person was €13, which could definitely be lower.
