In the heart of Montmartre, this vibrant square is filled with art, music, food, and stunning aesthetics. We visited in early February on a cold day, but the energy of the place made up for it. It's a location you want to return to repeatedly for inspiration or simply to relax in a corner. Naturally, it’s very popular among tourists, which is to be expected.
This charming plaza is home to various restaurants, patios, and artists. You can find affordable and delicious crepes as well as baked goods available for takeout at Carette. While sit-down restaurants can be on the pricey side, the ambiance certainly makes it worthwhile. Plus, the Dali museum is located nearby.

I absolutely adore this place. It has a cozy, charming vibe, with many artists painting—truly quintessentially Parisian at its finest. One note of criticism: they’ve relocated the artists from the square into dining areas. I think preserving the tradition and the ambiance is more important than focusing solely on the food.
Place du Tertre: A Parisian Treasure
Nestled atop Montmartre, Place du Tertre is a charming square that radiates the quintessential essence of Paris. Its cobblestone streets, quaint cafes, and lively atmosphere create a mesmerizing setting. One of the highlights of visiting this square is the chance to see talented artists in action, from painters capturing the city's spirit to caricaturists crafting humorous portraits—a unique artistic experience awaits at every corner. While it can get crowded during peak tourist times, it's definitely worth the visit. Whether you seek inspiration, a delicious meal, or simply a spot to enjoy the Parisian vibe, Place du Tertre will surely enchant you.
A visit to beautiful Montmartre is a must when in Paris; for me, it's the most spectacular experience after exploring nearly everything the city has to offer. This particular square is irresistibly charming, featuring numerous talented artists with stunning artwork. Just find a seat at one of the many bars and soak in the ambiance.
