Ever wanted to see the beauty of Paris from above, but not from the Eiffel Tower? Montparnasse Tower is the place to go!
Try to catch the sunset, as the view of the sun setting with the Eiffel Tower is breathtaking. It has an iconic atmosphere filled with romance. You can grab a beer and relax in the bean bags, or bring your loved ones for a slow dance under the beautiful Parisian skies—it's an experience you won't regret. And make sure to take in the night skies as well...
Just a tip, remember to bring a jacket, even in summer.
What an incredible and spectacular view from the top of the tower!
Going up just before sunset to capture pictures of "La tour Eiffel" as it gets dark was a fantastic choice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Tickets can be bought from the official online ticket shop in advance.
We will definitely return and highly recommend visiting this spot.
Located in the 15th arrondissement, Montparnasse Tower provides one of the best panoramic views of Paris. While the building itself is often criticized as an eyesore that disrupted the city's skyline, the experience from its observation deck is truly fantastic. Ironically, since the tower doesn’t feature in its own view, the scenery from the top is stunning, showcasing the entire city and its beautiful landmarks. Entry is smooth, generally with no waiting lines and no need to book tickets in advance. The high-speed elevator takes you up 56 floors in seconds! The observation levels include a café and a restaurant, making it a lovely place to unwind while enjoying the view. I had two large beers, each priced at €7.50, with a selection of four varieties. Compared to the Eiffel Tower, Montparnasse offers a more peaceful and efficient experience, free of long lines and crowds. While the Eiffel Tower remains a historic and iconic attraction, Montparnasse stands out for its tranquility and breathtaking views, especially of the Eiffel Tower itself. As long as the weather is clear, any time of day or night is ideal for a visit.
A cool Paris experience if you're pressed for time. The location is a bit off the beaten path. I went one day when it was foggy, and I appreciated that they allowed me to change the date. The next day was clearer, but still foggy. I liked the no parachute sign. There's a lot of glass at the top, which gives less exposure for photographers. A sunset or a clear night would be amazing.
The Tower is just outside the main station, and the entrance is to the right-hand side. Avoid walking too far right as the round trip around the base can take over five minutes through some boring shops. Instead, head for the buses. The cost is 23 Euros per adult, which isn't cheap. There's an enclosed floor with a café and a small gift shop, and a couple of flights up leads to an open top area with great photo opportunities through the glass. The night view, when clear, is unbeatable. If you're curious, you should definitely give it a try.
