My Fun-Filled Day at Central Park Zoo, New York!
I recently visited the Central Park Zoo in New York, and I had an absolute blast! As a zoo enthusiast, I was excited to explore this iconic attraction, and I wasn't disappointed. The zoo is nestled in the heart of Central Park, providing a unique and tranquil setting for a fun-filled day out.
The first thing that struck me was the zoo's compact size, making it easy to navigate and explore. The enclosures are well-designed, providing ample space for the animals to roam and play. I was impressed by the variety of species on display, including sea lions, monkeys, penguins, and even a snow leopard!
One of the highlights of my visit was the sea lion exhibit. Watching these playful creatures swim and frolic in the water was truly mesmerizing. I also enjoyed the petting zoo, where I got to interact with friendly goats and sheep.
What I appreciated most about the Central Park Zoo is its commitment to conservation and education. The zoo offers a range of interactive exhibits and programs, providing visitors with a deeper understanding of the importance of wildlife conservation.
Overall, I highly recommend the Central Park Zoo to anyone looking for a fun and educational experience. Whether you're a zoo enthusiast, a family with kids, or simply looking for a unique attraction to visit in New York, the Central Park Zoo is a must-visit destination.

The intimacy of this zoo is unmatched. The zoo keepers obviously love these animals as is evident during their care taken during feedings. It is "small" but I happen to think it was the perfect size- the closest I’ve ever gotten to some of these animals. Best penguin exhibit I’ve ever seen, best bird exhibit I’ve seen. Thoroughly enjoyed the petting zoo included in the tickets as well. Don’t listen to the reviews that say the animals are all sad and depressed- animals looked happy and well taken care of as much as they can be in a zoo like this (some of which are even native to the area such as the harbor seals). Also most animals featured are conservatory animals or endangered who NEED to be in this setting to survive and obviously have great specialized care. All in all, worth the money and the time, go for the 1:30 sea lion feeding and the 2:30pm penguin feeding. You won’t regret it :)

I went on a Monday in January, it was nice & quiet, no lines or crowds. I saw the Penguins & Sea Lions being fed which was great fun. There's another section of the zoo that's a petting zoo with goats & other farmyard animals to feed. The only thing I didn't see were the snow leopards, they must've been asleep. I really enjoyed the 4D movie theater, don't miss it!
I saw 3 things that I didn't like: one of the Grizzly bears was pacing up & down for a long time, whilst rescued as a cub because its mother was shot for being in a residential area, & definitely well cared for here, the bear obviously isn't that happy in captivity. I saw a sad penguin that looked like it wanted to leave too. And a couple of long tailed birds in a small enclosure that seemed frantic to get out, these are the things made me sad about zoos.
Anyway the staff are superb & all the creatures are cared for 100%. I imagine it gets busy at peak times, so maybe better in the week.
Watch out for the squirrels if you eat outside the cafe, they're fearless & relentless at trying to get to your food, they will get in your face & touch your stuff so beware.
This zoo may be small, but it’s absolutely worth a visit! Conveniently located in Central Park, it offers a charming and enjoyable experience for visitors of all ages. The variety of small animals and birds is delightful—you can watch them, listen to their calls, and even interact with some. One of the highlights is the sea lion feeding, which happens several times a day and is both entertaining and educational. The intimate size of the zoo makes it easy to navigate, allowing you to fully enjoy the exhibits without feeling rushed. A perfect stop for nature and animal lovers in the heart of the city!
It’s very nice and family friendly. I didn’t get to see some animals because they were hiding. Maybe next time I’ll see them :)
