The Metropolitan Cathedral, also known as Catedral Metropolitana, is an iconic Roman Catholic church located in the heart of Mexico City. I was completely amazed by how extravagant and unique this place is. It reminded me of my travels in Italy and visiting the stunning cathedrals there. This cathedral is unparalleled in North America. I highly recommend a visit. The organ alone is a sight to behold, it's truly stunning. The towering ceilings enhance the intricate artwork, and the dedication that went into constructing this church is immeasurable.

The architecture of this church is stunning! There is free admission if you wish to go inside, and if you do, you'll notice a noticeable lean as the building is sinking. I visited on a Sunday when the bells rang for several minutes, and it was a truly special experience.

It's massive, especially the pipe organ. There are a few more bleeding Jesus figures than I personally like, but it's definitely worth a visit. It's crucial to be respectful here as people may be worshiping during your visit. This is a great place to pause and rest during a busy day in Mexico City.
