We had a wonderful experience at this park! It's a beautiful gem located in the center of Madrid. The tranquil boating lake, lush gardens, and charming pathways make it a great place to explore. We enjoyed walking along the tree-lined avenues, and the Crystal Palace was a standout during our visit. It’s an ideal spot to unwind, soak in the atmosphere, and enjoy a calm afternoon. I highly recommend this park to anyone traveling to Madrid—it's a must-visit!

This park features a lake where you can rent a paddle boat. I suggest downloading the app to skip the line. It costs just 6 euros to rent a boat that accommodates up to 4 people. Remember, it’s 6 euros for each boat, not per person for a duration of 45 minutes.

This is the best public park I've ever visited. I easily spent a day exploring the Rose garden, relaxing by the fountain, and admiring the statues. The park features ponds, a lake with rowboats, wooden bridges, playgrounds, and areas for bird watching. There are plenty of trees, quiet spots, and seating available. The crowds began to arrive around 11am, but with such a large area, there are still quiet places to enjoy. Public restrooms are available throughout.

El Retiro Park is a true treasure and one of Madrid’s most beautiful locations! The park is vast and green, with exquisite gardens, tall trees, and serene walking paths. The stunning Rose Garden and Crystal Palace are definite highlights worthy of admiration. There are numerous activities—renting rowboats on the lake, taking leisurely walks, or simply enjoying some downtime by the fountains. It also offers fantastic picnic spots and great opportunities for people-watching. The calm and serene atmosphere makes El Retiro the perfect getaway from the busy city. It’s great for unwinding whether you’re with friends and family or enjoying some peaceful time alone with nature. It’s easy to reach, well-maintained, and clean, ensuring a pleasant experience overall. I wholeheartedly recommend visiting this park when in Madrid; its beauty and variety of activities make it a fantastic place to spend a day.

This park next to the Prado museum is definitely worth a visit, even in February, if you enjoy strolling among beautiful trees and ponds. We were there in February, so we missed the blooming Rose garden, but from what I've seen, I'm sure it's stunning! The park is conveniently located next to the Prado and botanical garden, which has a nice bonsai collection as an added bonus.
