This is a great spot to eat, drink, or just wander around to soak in the local vibe.
Don't miss the meat shop called El Rincon de Manolo; they serve excellent bocadillos and drinks at very reasonable prices.
Charming Mercado with excellent variety!
I recently explored this mercado in Madrid and had a delightful experience. The atmosphere buzzed with a fantastic mix of locals and tourists. The selection of food and drink was remarkable, covering everything from traditional Spanish tapas to international dishes.
The vendors were welcoming and well-informed, eager to provide recommendations. The quality of items, especially the fresh produce and seafood, was top-notch. Prices were fair for what you get, although some stalls felt on the higher end.
The only minor drawback was the crowd during peak hours, making it a bit hard to find a seat. Nonetheless, the lively vibe and charm of the mercado outweighed the inconvenience.
In summary, it is a must-visit destination in Madrid for food enthusiasts and anyone looking to immerse themselves in local culture. I will definitely return!
This is a classic local market located in the center of a diverse district. It's easy to find a place to grab a drink, and inside, it features stalls from Spain and different countries (not all of them are always open).
A local market that offers a wide variety of food options, including a Mexican stall with vegan choices. A great spot for having a vermut.
During our city break in Madrid, we stumbled upon this hidden gem. It had the appearance of a shut-down market in the backstreets of Lavapies but turned out to be a charming little market. We enjoyed two small beers for €7, one an amber ale and the other a golden ale. Other vendors offered liquors and vermouth!
