It stands directly across from the Royal Palace, with much of its design inspired by this regal backdrop. The Gothic architecture is breathtaking, showcasing intricate masonry and exceptional craftsmanship. The cathedral has hosted numerous notable burials from Spain and various other countries. As an active cathedral, visitors are expected to wear respectful clothing. Admission is free, but a 1€ donation is suggested. The ceiling boasts a unique design that captivates visitors; many find themselves gazing at it for hours. Visitors can also climb to the Dome for stunning views of the city. The Almudena Cathedral is my favorite in Madrid. It is just across from the Royal Palace. The beauty of Santa Maria de la Almudena is impressive, showcasing amazing interior and exterior architecture. I recommend exploring around the cathedral to appreciate the grandeur of the tall walls and numerous idols inside. No booking is required, and entry is free for all.
