We are excited to be members of the Los Angeles Arboretum! This has been on our list for ages. Although our Huntington Garden membership has been enjoyable, the Arboretum—despite being a little farther away—is absolutely worth visiting.
Our first visit was during last year's annual Cactus and Succulent Show and Sale, which truly impressed us and made us eager to come back and explore more.
What makes the Arboretum unique isn’t just its beautiful gardens, though it has plenty of them. The commitment to botany is evident in everything they do. The incredible variety of plants and the detailed care given to them are remarkable and enhance the experience for every visitor.
On our first visit, we explored the sections dedicated to Africa and Australia, along with some unforgettable (and quite humid) greenhouses. We are looking forward to returning throughout the year to discover even more. It’s a delightful place for the entire family, and our membership has proven valuable already—we even visited the Santa Barbara Botanical Gardens just a week after joining, making it well worth the cost. Excited for many more visits.
And don’t forget the peacocks! They are everywhere—on rooftops, in trees, and even strutting in front of the bathrooms. These stunning birds, descendants of the original peafowl brought by “Lucky” Baldwin in the early 1900s, have become symbolic of the Arboretum. With a population of around 250, they greet visitors and add to the gardens' unique charm.

A stunning location to take a loved one and spend a relaxing day. The flowers, cacti, pathways, and waterfalls are beautiful. With trees, grass, birds, and children, it’s always a lovely experience visiting here. The atmosphere is calm and the staff are friendly, making it perfect for a leisurely weekend. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, as the area is large and heavy shoes may tire you out. Dress for the weather to avoid overheating.
A vast and beautiful park with geese and peafowl roaming about. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and suitable clothing. Seriously, this place is massive. It's nice to spend a few hours wandering, stopping to appreciate the scenery, and continuing on. Weekdays may feature school trips, but the space is so expansive you may not notice them.

It's an ideal location for a peaceful stroll or a full day of exploring nature. One of the standout moments was seeing the beautiful peacocks roaming freely. They truly add a magical element to the experience. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast or just searching for a tranquil escape, this garden is essential to visit!

A fantastic place to get away from the busy city life. The gardens are well-kept, and there are plenty of restrooms available. It’s a peaceful environment for strolling, and you’ll be welcomed by numerous peacocks.
