What an incredibly fun spot to explore during our time in LA. We were amazed by the park's size once we reached the observatory and checked the map. The bird sanctuary was the highlight for us, where we spent over an hour discovering new bird species not found back home.

This is an absolute must-see. On our first visit, I noticed that everyone recommends visiting this park— I’m so glad I followed their advice! The views are stunning, and you can see the Hollywood sign perfectly. There are numerous hiking trails around, which I loved!

The hiking area is beautiful with so much to discover and several trails. The most popular route leads to the observatory, suitable for beginners to intermediates. For a shorter, easier hike that still provides a good workout, try the Ferndell loop trail. The park is massive.

A very nice spot for hiking. There are many inclines and switchbacks, so wear good shoes as the path can be dusty. The observatory is definitely worth a visit; it’s a great way to break up the hike and offers fantastic views of the city, Hollywood sign, and the observatory itself.

The observatory is an excellent place to visit and explore, but it’s crowded, which makes it hard to enjoy fully. We were unfortunate not to find available paid parking (it was closed due to capacity limits), so we had to search further for free parking— which was also full. Once we parked, free shuttles ran every 20 minutes to take us to the observatory and back. If it weren’t so crowded, it would be a wonderful experience.
