Westminster Abbey is an incredible location for those who appreciate history and architecture. It is one of the oldest abbeys in the UK, associated with the Church of England. Numerous monarchs are interred here, along with monuments dedicated to many notable figures throughout history. The self-guided audio tour was intuitive and provided valuable insights into the abbey's history. There's also a special exhibit upstairs that you can add for just £5, making it well worth the additional cost. Even for non-religious visitors, the historical significance alone is worth the trip.

Nestled at Dean's Yard, London SW1P 3PA, United Kingdom 🇬🇧, Westminster Abbey has held significant historical importance since 1066, serving as the site for the coronations of 40 English and British Monarchs and a burial ground for 18 Monarchs. Since 1100, the Abbey has been the venue for at least 16 Royal Weddings. Though its origins are unclear, an abbey with Benedictine monks existed here by the mid-10th century. The current structure initiated by King Henry III in 1245, and was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987 due to its historic and symbolic importance. This visit was nothing short of extraordinary. The architecture of the Abbey is absolutely stunning, showcasing exceptional craftsmanship. The Gothic Interiors offer an unforgettable experience, alive with British History, where countless Coronations, Royal Weddings, and State Funerals have transpired. It's also a resting place for key historical figures like Charles Darwin and Charles Dickens. The intricate stone carvings and stained glass windows are mesmerizing. Furthermore, Poet's corner is a highlight for any literary enthusiast. This site is essential for anyone, local or tourist, with an interest in history and culture. Highly recommend! 👍👍👍
