Visiting Somerset House during the Christmas holidays is an unforgettable experience! The large ice rink is surrounded by beautiful decorations, and there's even a cozy bar for those who prefer not to skate. However, we had some issues with our tickets due to a glitch on the website, resulting in us needing to rely on friends for admission. Additionally, the ice rink can get overly crowded, making it tough to skate without bumping into others. Overall, it's a must-visit, especially being the historic site of ice skating.

As a novice ice skater, I struggled a bit but absolutely loved the breathtaking views at Somerset House! It's genuinely one of the most stunning ice rinks I've ever encountered. This location definitely deserves a spot on your bucket list!

A word of caution for those bringing children—an adult must accompany them on the ice. The ticketing website has an option for child tickets only without realizing it might be in the terms hidden away. I had planned to treat my kids to skating without my wife, but thankfully she could join us last minute to purchase an extra ticket, otherwise, we would have faced a bit of a dilemma.

Recently, we had an incredible day at Somerset House and The Courtauld Gallery, and I highly recommend it! Somerset House features stunning neoclassical architecture and has a rich history as a former royal palace and government site. It currently serves as a lively cultural center with various exhibitions and creative studios. During our visit to The Courtauld Gallery, we encountered an exquisite collection, ranging from Manet to Van Gogh, which was truly awe-inspiring. The gallery's size is just right, making it engaging without being overwhelming, with tickets priced reasonably. If you're passionate about art or history, this visit will be memorable!
