This is one of my favorite aquariums in the entire world! I had an amazing day starting in the sea forest exhibit which was peaceful and provided great spaces to sit and contemplate. Moving on to the massive aquarium and its various levels I found things that made me smile at every corner. I loved the smaller nooks to sit in and watch the giant tank. I will definitely be back. The cafeteria and on-site restaurants were reasonably priced with fresh food options.
What to say about the Vasco da Gama Aquarium? What a gem of an aquarium/museum they have here. The building itself is from the 1800s and the quality of the exhibitions is great. It's small compared to other Aquariums, especially the Oceanarium at Parque das Nações, so it is impressive how interactive it is. Due to its size, they focus on Portuguese sea life, which is great, as you're in Portugal, after all. I highly recommend it!
Great aquarium for the price. It's a short experience but definitely worth the visit! Also, a nice little spot outside to buy food for the koi fish. Makes for a perfect date spot without breaking the bank!
Really fun aquarium that has museum sections as well as actual marine life. The shark exhibit was closed due to repairs, but we still spent a couple of hours viewing the fish and other collections. The bathrooms are clean, and outside there is a koi pond where you can pay €0.50 to feed them. It's not on the same level as the oceanarium, but if you like aquariums, it's a must-see.
The place is well designed with a very interesting museum and is interactive with the animals. Outside, there is a beautiful lake with chairs where we can just enjoy the view. This place is highly recommended for kids as well.
