Maruyama Park is a truly stunning location and a must-see in Kyoto. The park is fantastic, offering a peaceful and scenic refuge from the busy city life. It’s free for everyone to enter, making it accessible for both locals and visitors. Even with a fair number of people present, it doesn’t feel overly congested, which enhances its allure. The park is beautifully designed, featuring extensive areas with calming water streams, lovely bridges, fountains, and trees that change colors with the seasons. The landscape combines natural beauty with traditional Japanese aesthetics. Whether you visit in the spring to see the cherry blossoms or in the autumn for vibrant foliage, the views are breathtaking throughout the year. A few shops in the park offer snacks and refreshments, ideal for a quick stop while enjoying the serene environment. Maruyama Park is perfect for a relaxing stroll, a peaceful picnic, or simply appreciating the beauty of nature. Its mix of natural and man-made elements makes it one of the most beautiful and tranquil parks in Kyoto. I highly recommend it!

"Maruyama Park – A Perfect Morning Escape" In one word: Tranquil. Visiting Maruyama Park early in the morning was just the peaceful getaway we needed. Even without the cherry blossoms blooming, the park’s beauty was amazing, providing a calm and serene setting that felt like a hidden gem. I can only imagine how stunning this place is during blossom season, but for us, it was an ideal start to the day. A must-see for those looking for a quiet, scenic retreat in Kyoto!

A beautiful park to enjoy the stunning scenery, especially in autumn and spring. This park features several historic Shinto structures from the early 1900s and has a few small waterfalls. There are many spots available for taking pictures and relaxing in the shade. Entry fee: free Facilities like toilets and parking are available.

The park is incredibly nice and has far fewer tourists compared to others. I was able to sit and unwind away from the crowds for a while. I noticed people in geisha outfits taking pictures next to the ponds and petite bridges.

You will see a truly breathtaking view of Maruyama Park at the height of the autumn season. The bright yellow and red maple leaves throughout the park are a stunning sight. I recommend visiting early in the morning.
