A stunning palace, absolutely worth a visit when in Istanbul. With its beautiful architecture and rich history, it promises to be an impressive and relaxing day. The gardens, viewpoints, and imperial treasures cater to everyone’s interests. We appreciated the variety the palace grounds provided and also enjoyed learning more about the history behind it all. I suggest dedicating a full day and taking your time wandering through the gardens, alleys, and gorgeous buildings.
It's my third visit, and I feel like I'm rediscovering some places anew.
Other reviews will narrate the full story. You receive a free audio guide upon arrival. I highly recommend coming very early and spending your time visiting each courtyard. Also, enjoy a stroll around the premises.
What a remarkable place to visit!
Be sure to watch some historical documentaries about the Ottoman Empire before your visit. Also, consider getting a complete guided tour! It’s worth every penny! Set aside a whole day to explore this site thoroughly, or break it up into two or three visits; otherwise, you won’t see everything.
Absolutely beautiful. Plan to spend several hours there to fully enjoy it.
Also, double-check if your ticket includes the harem to avoid missing out like we did :(
