The Rahmi Koç Museum is a captivating private museum focusing on the history of transportation, industry, and communications. Nestled along the Golden Horn, it features an extensive collection of vintage automobiles, airplanes, trains, boats, and various machinery, in addition to displays illustrating the development of technology and engineering. Situated in a historic factory building, it offers an engaging look into Turkey's industrial history. It’s an excellent location for history and technology lovers, regardless of age. The “Automobile & Motor Collection” is particularly impressive. While submarine tours were previously available, they were removed for maintenance in May 2023.
I visited the Rahmi M. Koç Museum in Istanbul, and I was truly amazed! This venue is a dream for enthusiasts of technology, history, and art. The museum is located in a stunning historic structure by the Golden Horn, which adds a unique appeal to the experience. The collection is remarkably varied: vintage cars, airplanes, ships, locomotives, and many captivating exhibits related to science and industry. I particularly enjoyed the sections focused on classic cars and maritime history. Everything is meticulously presented, accompanied by insightful information for each exhibit. A special highlight is the interactive zones, suitable for both adults and children. You don’t just witness history here—you can engage with it. The on-site café was a delightful addition, serving tasty food with an impressive view. The Rahmi M. Koç Museum is a destination you'll want to revisit. I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a captivating and educational experience in Istanbul!

Fantastic museum with plenty of intriguing exhibits, very well laid out, along with a charming little coffee shop. We opted for the river taxi from Taksim since the ferry terminal is conveniently located next door.
This museum is well-organized and beautifully designed, especially suitable for children and adults with a passion for industry. You can discover various artifacts, including an 18th-century horse-drawn carriage and a toy from the 2010s. The founder, Rahmi M. Koç, who is the owner of Koç Holdings and one of the wealthiest individuals in Turkey, has a special taste for collecting timeless items from around the world.
