As soon as you enter this historic treasure, you are taken back in time. The architecture is magnificent, and the views of Istanbul from the top are immensely stunning – an ideal mix of the Bosphorus, the Golden Horn, and the city skyline. Although the climb might be a bit challenging, it is absolutely worth it (and there is an elevator option as well!). The ambiance is lively yet tranquil, making it an essential stop for both history enthusiasts and casual visitors. Pro tip: visit at sunset or nighttime for an unforgettable experience. An iconic landmark that truly deserves its reputation! cons: the entry fee for international visitors is somewhat steep.

One of the "must-see" attractions in Istanbul. You can take the elevator up, which is very handy, especially since the approach to the tower from the Galata Bridge side is quite steep and tiring (but from the Taksim side it is elegantly downhill). Inside, there’s a souvenir shop (beware - it’s extremely overpriced, around 5-to-10 times more than in the small shops nearby). From the top, you have a fantastic panoramic view of Istanbul. Don’t be surprised if you catch sight of a bride dancing on the roof while admiring the city – such photo sessions are quite common! Make sure to mind your head when descending the stairs, as the corridors can be tight and narrow.

1. So picturesque: location, vicinity, and the tower itself 2. Ensure it's a hard climb from the sea, as it's quite high 3. A visit is worthwhile in any season and time of day 4. There are many visitors at all times 5. Amazing experience

What a charming spot to take photographs! We didn’t manage to visit inside the tower, we only snapped some photos on the streets. If we had more time, we definitely would have explored the inside of the tower.

A fantastic chance to view the city from a bird’s-eye perspective at 360 degrees, showcasing Sofia and the entire city panorama. Admission is charged, and the inside platform of the tower has multiple tiers; one features a city model, whereas above that there is an exit to the observation area. A must-visit when in Istanbul.
