Constructed in the late 19th century between 1863 and 1880 under French colonial influence, this breathtaking cathedral features a striking red brick exterior sourced from Marseilles, complemented by exquisite stained glass imported from Chartres, France. With its neo-Romanesque architecture, Notre Dame boasts an impressive interior characterized by its high vaulted ceilings, gracefully arched naves, and contrasting white and brown beams. The cathedral’s twin towers reach upward 60 meters, dominating the skyline and housing six bells that ring harmoniously throughout the day. Notably, the cathedral is home to the revered statue, Peaceful Notre Dame, crafted from Italian granite and imported from Rome. During our visit, the cathedral was not open to the public. We explored the surroundings instead. The exterior appears to be under renovation, so there aren’t many photo opportunities right now. Thankfully, the post office is just across the street!

Currently undergoing renovations, the outer structure is hidden by scaffolding. However, it is conveniently located in the center of Ho Chi Minh City, right next to the Post Office and the Pittman Building.

The cathedral was beautiful and well-maintained, although parts were closed for restoration. However, it truly dazzles in the evening when lit up. It's also conveniently located near hop-on, hop-off bus services, making it a great starting point for tourists.
