A captivating exploration of the Vietnam War and the Vietnamese people. We thoroughly enjoyed our two-hour tour led by an excellent guide. Arriving by speedboat (which takes about an hour and fifteen minutes) was a fantastic experience as it offered a beautiful ride along the river.
The site comprises 200km of tunnels - a truly remarkable achievement! If you venture down just one - even for 20 meters or so - you gain a genuine understanding of what life must have been like during the war.
I experienced the Cu Chi Tunnels on a private tour, and it was unforgettable. Choosing to travel by private car offered a more laid-back and personalized experience, enabling us to go at our own pace and sidestep the crowds that come with group tours. The vehicle was comfortable, and our driver was timely and accommodating.
Upon reaching the Cu Chi Tunnels, I was impressed by how well-preserved and informative the site is. The history surrounding the tunnels, utilized during the Vietnam War, is both captivating and humbling. I explored the tunnels, which were far more extensive and intricate than I had anticipated. It was awe-inspiring to witness the ingenuity and resilience of those who lived and fought there.
You can even try shooting at the shooting range where various rifle models are available.
Since it was a private tour, I had ample time to delve into the diverse sections of the site, including traps, living quarters, and the intricate underground networks. My guide was well-informed and addressed all my inquiries in depth, enhancing the experience even further.
Overall, I highly recommend visiting the Cu Chi Tunnels if you're in Vietnam, and I certainly suggest opting for a private tour for a more personalized experience. It was a fantastic way to immerse myself in the history without feeling rushed or overwhelmed.
I visited the Cu Chi Tunnels during Tet and was pleasantly surprised to find it was one of the few places open during this time. Surprisingly, the site wasn’t crowded at all. The price without a tour was 120k, guide included. So it’s definitely worth a visit.
I never imagined I would get the chance to visit this place…let alone to actually WALK through it! It’s absolutely incredible how these tunnels are so well-preserved, allowing the public to learn about their history. The tours were well-organized and informative, with various interactive sections available for a deeper understanding of the Cu Chi Tunnels and their use during/after the war. Our tour guide was not just knowledgeable but also humorous! He enhanced this experience significantly!
I loved it! It was super interesting to learn about the Vietnam War firsthand. Our guide, who actually fought in the war, was very informative. If you’re interested in history and happen to be in Vietnam, you should definitely check it out.
