On December 5, we had a pleasant short ride to observe the seals basking on the rocks in the sea. However, the ride was quite rough for some of us, and sickness bags were needed. We embarked late in the afternoon, which caused significant glare from the low sun. Perhaps a different time of day would offer a clearer view of the seals.

Hundreds of fur seals inhabit this area. Tickets for excursions can be purchased at the port costing between 110 and 140 rand, depending on the company. The boat ride lasts around 45 minutes. The funny fur seals either frolic in the water or lie with their bellies up.

We visited via circle launches which were punctual, and the communication was excellent. It was a fantastic trip; I haven't seen so many seals in one place for over 10 years. I almost forgot about their smell, haha.
