It was somewhat hard to locate since it's not at the main entrance where security is heavy. The entrance is actually at the back on a smaller road, and tickets can be purchased from a counter across the street, which felt a bit unusual. The grounds are nice, with a variety of weapons from different eras, and the presidential gifts room was interesting. You are under close observation by guards as you explore, but that’s due to the need for security around valuable items. Unlike other tourist spots, it’s not overly crowded, allowing for a nice experience without persistent sellers. Worth visiting if you have a couple of hours in Cairo, but not a full-day attraction since we only managed to see the museum and grounds; palace tours require advance booking.
The museum is quite nice with good exhibits. I wished there were more rooms to explore, but what I saw was sufficient. I didn't have time to book the documentary show, but I might do that next time. Remember to get a ticket if you want to take photos or videos. I appreciated that it wasn't too crowded, and the staff were polite and helpful if you needed directions.
The grounds were enjoyable with some interesting exhibitions inside, but overall, the experience was not as impressive compared to other attractions we visited in Cairo. Tickets for foreigners were around $5, with an extra charge for mobile photography; professional photography was even pricier. If you don’t have a photography ticket, security will take your phone before entering.
Abdeen Palace Museum is an incredibly beautiful palace with impressive scale. The architecture and design are very unique, filled with relics and exceptional artifacts that are not commonly seen. You’ll need a good amount of time to explore the entire museum, but it has plenty of amazing things to admire!
Abdeen Palace in Cairo is a stunning example of royal architecture and history. It showcases a unique collection of the king's artifacts and the treasures presented to the Republic by other nations. The visit reveals magnificent halls, rare displays, and the regal heritage of Egypt.
