Recoleta Cemetery: The Iconic Final Resting Place in Buenos Aires

I was hesitant after reading some reviews, but I can confidently say it’s definitely worth a visit! The entrance fee includes a guided tour, which is not well advertised, and I think only a few people are aware of this fact. Tours run every hour (in Spanish for sure, unsure about English) and last about an hour and a half. We were fortunate to have Pablo as our guide (since no one else showed up, it was only my husband and me). Pablo is incredibly passionate and knowledgeable, which made our experience much more enriching. Highly recommended!

The layout is perplexing—you cannot exit the same way you entered, which might add to its charm, but finding an alternative exit can be complicated. Moreover, I noticed that entrance fees for foreigners were exorbitantly high, about ten times what one might expect. The pervasive presence of merchandise sales in the area contributed to an overall chaotic atmosphere. If you are fascinated by unique grave designs and local culture, it may be worth a visit. Just be ready for some confusion with exits and inflated prices if you aren't a local.
