A breathtaking art gallery with stunning architecture both inside and out. The collection features various eras and styles, making it a fascinating experience. The entry fee is reasonable, making it a must-visit in the city.

We strolled from Fisherman’s Bastion to Buda Castle on foot, which was an enjoyable walk. We bought a combined ticket for the ‘St Stephen’s Hall Museum’ and the ‘History Museum’, costing 4,500 ft each (around 11 euros). The History Museum is quite extensive, starting from the top floor down to the castle caves and requires ample time to explore. The St. Stephen’s Hall Museum is small and quick to navigate. After visiting these museums, we enjoyed walking around the castle, which offers lovely views.

The buildings look lovely from the outside, but there's not much to see inside the castle - much of it is restricted or has permanent exhibitions with limited accessibility. Some rooms and exhibitions charge entry fees, but walking around the castle's exterior is free. The funicular conveniently transports visitors from the base of the hill to the castle gates. A visit takes about two hours, which is worthwhile.

The view of the Danube River with its bridges and the two parts of the city, Pest and Buda, is spectacular. I visited in February, and it wasn't crowded. The castle area contains the Budapest History Museum, the National Gallery, and the National Library.
