My friend and I explored the impressive City Hall on a weekday. It features only a few rooms, but they are definitely worth the visit if you find yourself in this beautifully preserved medieval town. The city still operates from this building for official business. Public access is available, and admission is included with the Bruges city card, which you can buy at various entry points. I highly recommend waiting to activate your card until you're ready to visit several attractions in a single day. Due to its location in the old town Square, parking is limited nearby.
We visited the place with our Museum day pass. It was fascinating to learn about the significance of the sea to Bruges and its vital role in the city's history. The architecture is stunning!
I suggest visiting this hall if you have the museum pass. Although it's not overly large, the hall is breathtaking. There's an impressive projection mapping that showcases the history of the rivers linking Bruges to the sea. Highly recommended!
A charming town hall that serves as a significant place for the mayor of Bruges. The hall has a neo-gothic style with pictures illustrating key historical events of the town, including the Battle of the Golden Spurs in 1302, where civilians triumphed over nobility. Another room displays the town's development in a fascinating 3D format.
This stunning 12th-century structure has always functioned as the city hall. The main chamber is absolutely splendid. Be sure to utilize the audio guide to uncover hidden treasures within. An interactive display offers a wonderful overview of Bruges' history since Roman times. It's a brief visit but incredibly worthwhile!
