Reviews
A must-visit, particularly considering the current political climate. We explored both inside and outside along the wall. Definitely do the audio tour inside and allocate enough time to read the wall sequentially. It's a remarkable exhibit that everyone should experience to grasp what transpired here. It's very moving.
Extremely easy to navigate, with free entry and a wealth of informative content. The exhibits are straightforward to follow and read. A great detailed exploration of historical events.
You'll encounter a plethora of photographs, documents, and information that bear witness to mankind's inhumanity. Take your time observing the images of fear, cruelty, and humiliation—many captured by professional photographers, which is chilling in itself. This is a thorough collection that is as captivating as it is ghastly. You will leave profoundly affected by what you've seen.
A long section of the original Berlin Wall is also on display.
An excellent museum. Well organized, with a free audio guide available on the website (many languages offered). The timeline is well laid out. The museum site was pivotal in the old Reichstag; it was heart-wrenching to walk here and envision all the terror and hostility that unfolded at the same location many years ago. Lockers are available for a nominal fee.
This location is easily accessible, and the best part is that it’s free. From what we learned, guides are available if you desire a more in-depth experience.
They also provide a basic audio guide that you can scan with your phone to follow along. A map with marked locations is available, and the narrator on the audio guide clearly indicates where to focus and go, making it very user-friendly.
The information was captivating but deeply saddening, offering a raw insight into the history of Europe. I highly recommend it if you’re interested in history and crave a profound, eye-opening experience through photos and stories.
Lockers are provided for personal items, which operate with a coin in the mechanism. There's a café inside the venue as well. We purchased the English version of their history book.
However, I suggest visiting when there are no school class tours, as they tend to occupy sections of the exhibits you wish to see. It was slightly inconvenient but overall fine.
