Overview

Nestled in the heart of Berlin, the Neues Museum serves as a prominent cultural institution housing the Museum of Prehistory and Early History alongside the renowned Egyptian Museum featuring its exceptional Papyrus Collection. Originally crafted by architect Friedrich August Stüler, the museum faced devastation during World War II but was meticulously restored to its former glory by British architect David Chipperfield. Guests can marvel at an impressive array of archaeological treasures, including the Armana Art Collection, Trojan antiquities, and the famous Neanderthal skull from Le Moustier, all offering a fascinating glimpse into the dawn of human civilization. The museum also hosts engaging public events, including guided tours suitable for all ages and specialized educational workshops tailored for children. Advance booking for guided tours is required, with options available in both English and German, making the Neues Museum a must-visit attraction for history enthusiasts and families alike.

This museum is stunning, featuring artifacts from Egypt. They pay attention to the architecture and are currently renovating certain areas. Both the design and the exhibits are magnificent.

We purchased our tickets online, and access was very easy with no wait. The collection is impressive, with 90% of the items from ancient Egypt, including the renowned Nefertiti bust. The layout of the museum is very well organized, and they offer lockers for storing bags and jackets.

If you're in Berlin, you must visit this museum! In my opinion, besides the famous Pergamon museum, it’s the best museum in town. It hosts numerous artifacts, rich historical and cultural treasures, and the Nefertiti bust is undoubtedly the star attraction. Don't overlook the parts of Homer's Odyssey and Iliad, as well as the Golden Cap from the Bronze Age. The entrance fee is quite reasonable, approximately 22 euros for adults, making it well worth it.

The Neues Museum is an essential stop in Berlin. Situated in the city center, it features an outstanding collection of Egyptian and ancient artifacts. The highlight has to be the Nefertiti bust—one of the most exquisite sculptures you’ll lay eyes on. The building is well-organized over three levels, making it simple to explore and appreciate the exhibits.

It’s a fantastic museum with an incredible design and exceptional exhibitions. My visit was spontaneous; I hold a Stadtmuseum card and wanted to make the most of it. I hadn’t done any prior research, so my expectations were low. From the breathtaking staircase to the time of my exit, I was thoroughly entertained. I can honestly say this museum has become one of my favorites. The exhibition spans three floors and will take about two hours to see everything.
