While exploring Berlin, I found the Altes Museum, beautifully situated on Museum Island. The architecture of the building is stunning, and I was excited to learn about ancient Greece and Rome. For an entrance fee of €12 (€6 for students), I was eager to see the extensive collection of sculptures and artifacts. The museum truly impressed me with its hundreds of beautiful works of art and clear, informative descriptions. However, I noticed a predominant focus on Roman history. Overall, it's a must-visit for anyone interested in ancient civilizations.
A lovely museum with a rich history! It showcases an array of Greek, Egyptian, and Roman exhibitions filled with beautiful sculptures and artifacts. The building, an important Neoclassical structure, is located on Museum Island. You can purchase a combined ticket for all five museums for €24, or a Berlin museum pass for three days costing €32, which is a great deal if you're passionate about history and art!
Don't miss the ancient Greek and Egyptian masterpieces here—spend at least 2 hours taking it all in! I bought a ticket for the full range of exhibitions, which I think costs around 24 euros, with discounts available for students. The exhibitions include the Panorama Exhibition, Bode, Byzantine Art, the New Museum, Altes, and the Alte National Gallery.
One of the top museums globally, featuring a stunning array of ancient art, along with engaging sections on theatre, everyday lives, and even some explicit pieces. The quality of the works, especially the original Greek Classical sculptures, is exceptional. Allocate a few hours for your visit—you won't regret it!
The Museum Island offers a variety of cultural experiences. We sought to delve deeper into the Greek and Roman empires, witnessing a remarkable collection of sculptures and antique items during our visit. Each piece is intricately detailed, truly capturing the essence of the era of Gods and Goddesses. Admission is €12 for adults and €6 for students.
