The botanical garden I visited was truly a hidden gem. It had such a peaceful and calming atmosphere, perfect for unwinding. One of the highlights was the abundance of old, majestic trees, which added a sense of history and serenity to the place.
What I loved most was how uncrowded it was. It felt like a private retreat where you could really relax and take in the surroundings. To our surprise, we even spotted a few parrots! It was such a delightful and unexpected sight that added a touch of liveliness to the visit.
The bonsai exhibit was another standout feature. It was fascinating to see such intricate and meticulously maintained displays.
I also have to mention the air quality—it was exceptional! Breathing there felt so refreshing, with a subtle fragrance of flowers lingering in the air. It’s a place I’d highly recommend to anyone looking to recharge and connect with nature.
I’ve been to many botanical gardens around the world and this is the first time I had to pay. It was a small fee of €3.50 though. The gardens were a little poorly maintained with grass and weeds growing over but nevertheless I still spent 2 hours enjoying myself and exploring new plants.
Be mindful none of the information is translated in English so you may not be able to understand any of the information written on the plants. Unfortunately the only small glass house was closed on Sundays. When the sun starts to go down the mosquitoes come out so be aware. There is also just one entrance and I thought I could start my exploring from the back but had to walk all the way around to the front. Unlike many other free botanical gardens where you can walk in from any entrances. The plant selection didn’t blow me away but I did see one amazing eucalyptus I had not seen before. My experience was during the beginning of October. I also could not find any free tours which I have been able to do at other botanical gardens in Australia so I am not sure if that is even a thing in Europe. If you are a plant enthusiast I would still recommend going as you may find something of interest.
Even in winter it's worth a visit! We particularly loved the bonsai collection, as well as the quiet and relaxing atmosphere of the whole park. There is only little information displayed in general, even less so in English, and way too few benches along the paths!
Unique experience, plants from all over the world with tropical and arid conditions, filled with birds and parrots. The palm trees when in fruit are a hotspot for bird viewing. Visited in September; many plants were flowering or in fruit and therefore filled with colors and smells.
I recommend bringing water with you and sitting in the ample shade.

A peaceful diversion from a busy schedule within Barcelona. Interesting plants, accessible and very enjoyable. Highly recommend a detour if you have a few hours to spare.
