This was one of our favorite discoveries during our recent visit to Barcelona. The entry price of €7 per person felt like a fantastic deal. The exhibit on Barcelona's history is captivating, detailing how the Roman city evolved into the modern metropolis it is today, highlighting its various occupations and ties with Spanish politics. Our highlight was, like many others, the ruins beneath the museum. Experiencing a beautifully preserved section of the ancient Roman city and observing its evolution following the fall of the Empire was unforgettable. Although we couldn’t visit the additional MUHBA exhibits included in the ticket, we genuinely enjoyed our two hours in the museum.

I had the entire museum to myself one Friday afternoon in January! It was incredible... If you have a passion for Roman history and wish to see the remnants of one of the greatest empires in history, you should definitely visit this place. You won’t regret it.

A wonderful museum brimming with fascinating information on the upper floors about the history of Barcelona. However, the real gem is below, featuring the extensive Roman ruins beneath street level. I highly recommend this museum!

An incredible museum showcasing the history of the city from its very beginnings (literally). Take your time because it is vast and well-presented. Rushing through this experience will only lead to missing out on half the fun.

Fantastic museum located right in the Gothic Quarter. If you have an interest in history and want to explore some spectacular areas, this is the ideal museum for you. It highlights the history of Barcelona and features a variety of connected spaces. Notably, the museum boasts an amazing collection of Roman ruins, early Christian artifacts, and sections of the royal palace, including the royal chapel. I've been eager to visit this museum for years and finally got the chance during a Mediterranean cruise stop. If you want to escape the crowds and explore some significant historical areas of Barcelona, come here! As of the time of writing this review, admission was just €7. A brilliant way to spend an afternoon!
