In February, we enjoyed a lovely afternoon at Lumphini Park in Bangkok. The park provides a tranquil setting, perfect for a casual stroll. We were delighted to discover free paddle boats, enabling us to enjoy the lake at no charge. A highlight was spotting several water monitor lizards roaming around—a unique and captivating experience. Close to the entrance, there was a stall with affordable drinks, adding a nice touch. The park wasn't crowded, which contributed to its serene atmosphere. With its well-kept grounds and various attractions, Lumphini Park is truly the best park in Bangkok.

While there are newer and fancier parks in the city, Lumphini remains Bangkok’s most renowned green space and holds a special place in my heart. Its central location makes it genuinely a 'people’s park,' attracting individuals from all walks of life. There’s always something happening, from joggers and crows to monitor lizards and tai chi groups to lively mass exercise teams. Delicious food options are available both inside and outside the park—it's famous for breakfast! The park is filled with sculptures, shrines, playgrounds, and old buildings. My preferred times to visit are early in the morning and after 5 PM.

A must-visit! It's very accessible via the Metro, and I highly recommend the free Swan Boats. There are many spots nearby to grab a beer or lunch. It's a beautifully lovely area and I suggest taking a full day to explore this part of the city if you're in Bangkok.

Words can't express my love for this park! It's my go-to spot for running, picnics, and long walks. The richness of nature, combined with the cats and monitor lizards around the park, is a perfect escape from Bangkok's bustling streets. I cherish seeing people come together to exercise and enjoy shared activities. Do not miss it when you visit Bangkok!

This park serves as a peaceful retreat amidst the city's chaos, where you can relax, read, enjoy a fresh drink, or stroll under the shade of many trees. If you have a camera with at least a middle tele-zoom lens, you'll love capturing photos of the diverse birds and water monitor lizards in the lake. It’s simply amazing how, just ten minutes away, the traffic jams and the hustle of Bangkok await.
