Discover Asiatique: Bangkok's Unique Night Bazaar Mall

Overview

Asiatique is a captivating night bazaar nestled along the picturesque riverfront of Bangkok, offering a one-of-a-kind shopping experience that merges the charm of a traditional mall with the excitement of an Asian nighttime market. Once the site of a historical trading port, the complex stylishly integrates original warehouse structures and architecture reminiscent of 1900s riverside warehouses. With over 1,500 boutique stores and 40 restaurants, Asiatique is divided into four distinct districts: the Chareonkrung District for handcrafted goods and clothing, the Factory District for modern fashions and gadgets, the Town Square District for dining and entertainment, and the Waterfront District featuring upscale dining options. The bazaar opens at 5 PM and delights visitors not only with shopping and dining but also with nightly cultural performances, including the famous Calypso ladyboy cabaret and traditional Thai puppet shows. To avoid the busy streets, the best way to reach this vibrant destination is by boat. Expansive walkways enhance the experience, allowing for leisurely strolls between shops, with photo opportunities at retro props like trams and carts scattered throughout the area.

Asiatique The Riverfront is an amazing place to visit! The atmosphere is lively and vibrant, offering a perfect mix of shopping, dining, and entertainment right by the river. The night views are truly stunning, and the cool breeze from the river enhances the experience. There is a vast selection of great restaurants, featuring delicious Thai and international cuisine. The shopping options are fantastic as well, with unique souvenirs, clothing, and handcrafted items. Whether you want to relax, enjoy a meal, or explore the markets, this place has something for everyone. I highly recommend visiting in the evening for the best experience! Looking forward to my next visit.

The Asiatique Riverfront is a great nighttime venue for family entertainment, featuring amusement park rides, restaurants, bars, and market stalls. The area is very clean and safe, creating a fun atmosphere. It’s delightful to stroll by the riverfront and learn about the history of this site. Some dinner cruises depart from this pier. The markets and shops stay open until about midnight.

It offers an intriguing nightlife; it's quite romantic rather than hectic, unlike other night markets. There are numerous activities and restaurants to explore and try. However, many items you see there are overpriced, so you should consider carefully before making any purchases. The Ferris wheel ride is a highlight, and the views from up there are breathtaking; just be aware that the price for a 15-minute ride is 500 baht, which is not very budget-friendly. Overall, it's a lovely place to hang out with your partner or family if you are a tourist ready to spend a bit for a memorable experience.

Just be mindful that you may get overcharged. Any place that marks up a small item significantly (such as a basic drink) is aimed at tourists. This place feels a bit like Disneyland trash. If your idea of fun is mingling with bored tourists, you’ve found your spot. You can enjoy drinks at riverside bars, but the river view is often blocked by other tourists waiting in line to board boats. A big tip: there is a Big C supermarket in the complex. You can buy your drinks there, and they serve decent food like large prawns at an indoor cafe. Then, take your drinks to a picnic area behind the Ferris wheel to relax away from the chaos.
