Discover the Heineken Experience in Amsterdam

Overview

Nestled in the heart of Amsterdam, the Heineken Experience is a captivating journey through the world of one of the most famous beer brands. Established in 1867, this historic brewery transitioned from a vital brewing facility to an engaging visitor's center that opened its doors to the public in 1991. As you traverse the four levels of this remarkable attraction, you'll gain insights into the brewing craft, starting from the Heineken family's humble beginnings to its rise as a global beer icon. Don't miss the chance to savor the ingredients firsthand and participate in interactive features like Brew U, where you can create your own Heineken bottle. Conveniently located at Stadhouderskade 78, East of the Rijksmuseum, the Heineken Experience welcomes visitors daily from 11 AM to 7 PM, but be sure to arrive before 5:30 PM to secure your ticket!

A wonderful tour of the original brewery. The staff were very friendly and full of energy. The tour lasts about an hour and features several modern immersive experiences. During the tour, you also get to taste beers and receive two additional tokens for tastings at the end. We opted for the rooftop tasting, which was less crowded and offered a fantastic view of Amsterdam.

If you're in Amsterdam, the Heineken factory is a must-see, providing a unique experience. Inside, you can participate in games and possibly win free beer! The tour spans around 1.5 to 2 hours, and at the exit, you can purchase gifts for your friends and get your name printed on beer bottles.

It was an incredible experience! I missed it on my first trip to Amsterdam, but on my second visit, I bought tickets online and got the chance to go. The guides provided enjoyable explanations at various points throughout the tour. The animation shows were very impressive. Don't fret about not winning a beer as a gift—everyone works hard to ensure you enjoy a drink! The bar area at the end of the tour is a lot of fun. Beer, dancing, music—everything you could want is available. It's definitely a must-see!

The Heineken Experience is essential for beer lovers and anyone seeking a fun, interactive attraction. From the moment you enter, the blend of history, brewing knowledge, and hands-on activities creates an engaging and entertaining experience. The tour covers the history of Heineken, the brewing process, and features interactive exhibits, including a fun simulation where you 'become the beer.' The guides are friendly and knowledgeable, ensuring you make the most of your visit. The tastings during the tour are a fantastic addition, allowing you to enjoy freshly brewed Heineken in a lively setting. One of the highlights was receiving a customized Heineken bottle with my name on it—it’s a lovely souvenir that adds a personal touch and makes for a great keepsake or gift. The tour concludes in a lively bar where you can enjoy a couple more beers while soaking in the vibrant atmosphere. Whether you're a beer enthusiast or just looking for a unique way to spend some hours, the Heineken Experience is well worth it!
